The Plane

Thankfully, there are many major airlines that arrive through Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), the main airport serving San José, on a daily basis. Once you have arrived in San José, the capital of Costa Rica, you will need to take another (short) flight on a domestic airline. Choose either Nature Air or Sansa Regional airlines, or Alfa Romeo Air, the premier charter airline to reach Puerto Jimenez.

To avoid an overnight stay in San José plan to arrive before 12:00 noon and depart on a local flight the same day. If you do prefer to spend some time in San José we will be happy to suggest hotel reservations. Please give us your flight and arrival information when you make your reservation with us.

…the boat leaves early if it is full so it is best to be at the dock early. Also, the bus stop for the dock isn’t exactly obvious. You don’t want to take the Golfito bus all the way to the last stop (though if you do it’s a short $0.50 ride on a local back to the dock). The location of the fast ferry dock in Golfito is approximately 200m SE along route 14 from the Escuela San Francisco. If you can’t find it, ask around, a local should be able to point you in the right direction. The ferries dock at the main pier in Puerto Jimenez NW of the airport.” — http://wikitravel.org/en/Puerto_Jimenez
